HALLA MOTAWI

Since 1992, the artisans at Motawi Tileworks have hand crafted art tile in their Ann Arbor, Michigan studio. These distinctive tiles are known for their rich glazes and uniquely American designs, inspired by nature, art and architecture.

University has enjoyed a long and successful business relationship with the Motawi’s dating back many years. In discussions with them this year, it became apparent that their needs had changed. Like most businesses today, the downswing in the economy found the artisans at Motawi working harder than ever to continue the steady growth they’ve enjoyed, and the team at Motawi was considering ways to improve their marketing efforts.

The beautiful detail found in the tiles produced at Motawi is equally as stunning as the depth of color and the glazes they apply to these art-quality pieces. Conveying the quality and detail is a must, and, consequently, the Company produces high-quality photography for its printed materials which ultimately end up in the hands of potential customers. To ensure the highest quality reproduction of this painstaking photography, Motawi had turned to an outside source for color reproductions. In speaking with our contacts, multiple improvement opportunities were identified should the photographic reproductions be done in-house.
